This card isn't for any challenge, just a for fun card today. I'm taking a copic class online & wanted to practice coloring & shading. My hubby got home a little early tonight & took the boys fishing for a few minutes. It was still pretty warm & the mosquitoes are still really bad. But, they had so much fun! :D The boys have been digging in the yard for worms. They each have a container in the fridge full of worms. One of the joys of having boys!!! :D

Swine Flu
I just want to say, that I realize the H1N1 flu is a very serious flu virus, especially for certain people. But, when I saw this image, Swine Flu, it made me smile. I need a better sentiment for it though. I haven't jumped on the digital stamp bandwagon, but I did have to buy this one.
The sketch is for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch I'm not used to making long cards, so this was a definite challenge to me.

Stampin' Sisters in Christ #6
When I saw this week's Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge, I knew who I wanted to make a card for. A friend from our small group at church is having surgery on Thursday. The dr. told her every single thing that could go wrong, so she's a tad nervous. Several of the ladies in our group have promised to cover her in prayer during the surgery time.

Stamptv Sketch Challenge 31
I am really glad I made this card early yesterday. We had a Children's Miracle Network fundraiser for my hubby's job. We did a poker run for bikers. We had 116 people, I'm not sure how many motorcycles because part of them had a passenger, but last year we had 70, so we were pleased with the turn out! It was a beautiful day for the 160 mile ride. We had a huge BBQ dinner waiting for all of them when they were finished. It was a lot of prep work, I walked 11 miles today!!!! But, it was worth it! There was a little boy, Parker who came to talk to us about his miracle birth & his journey from Children's Hospital. He is just a few months older than my youngest. Both of my boys had to go to the NICU, but didn't have to stay very long at all. It's easy to take your kids health for granted when you have healthy kids. I'm so glad that we are able to participate in this fundraiser to help out families. The coolest part of the whole day, was when the biker who won the high hand, walked off of the stage & right down to Parker's family. He gave his entire winnings to this family!!! That just brought tears to my eyes to see this big, bad biker dude give his money away!!! :D I'm so glad that my boys got to experience all of today!
My card is for the stamptv sketch challenge this week. I did cut the dp, but it doesn't look like it, it just looks like another stripe in the dp! LOL! I colored the cupcake with my copics & added some PTI buttons.
I may not have another card until late Monday. I'm too tired tonight to make anything. I'll see what I can do!!

Feel the Joy Double Challenge Card
I couldn't get the lighting right on this card.
The sketch is for Amy's Friday Sketch Challenge and then for Sharon's Stamp Simply, we were to use brown or black ink... no coloring. I stamped the base with the stamp in Aqua Mist & it's not showing up very much. I used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder on the other Aqua Mist piece. The ribbon matches much better in person. Stamp is a Unity stamp, Feel the Joy.

Color Throwdown #61
This is my first time to play in the Color Throwdown Challenge This week's challenge was to use olive, rose red, mustard, regal rose, and chocolate. It was a challenge for me, especially since I don't use the pinks very often! ;)
I received the image, Soft Summer, from Wish Rak. Cardstock colors, Rose Red, Old Olive, More Mustard, and Dark Chocolate. I colored in the image with copics. And the wild & crazy, out of my comfort zone dp is from the Lemonade Basic Grey paper pack.

The color challenge on stamptv for this week was chocolate, sand or kraft, burgundy, red or pink. I'm caught up on my birthday cards & decided to play again with my Christmas designs. I still haven't decided what I'm going to do.
I used Dark Chocolate & Baroque Burgundy cardstock. The dp is Basic Grey. I used the damask background stamp from Flourishes & the poinsettia from A Year of Flowers. The ribbon is dark chocolate ribbon.

Stampin' Sisters In Christ #5
I made this for the Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge for this week. The challenge was to create a card using fall colors.
I opened my mail today & found the new set from Flourishes Wreaths of All Seasons & wanted to use it for my card. I colored the image with my copics. The dp is from the Citrus Stack from DCWV. Dark Chocolate cardstock & ribbon. I added chocolate pearls to complete this card.
It was very warm today, but our temps should cool down a little for tomorrow. Maybe it will feel like fall soon! When the a/c keeps kicking on, it just doesn't seem like it should be fall! LOL!

City of David
There are some times that it's bad when your Mom reads your blog. If I use this for my Christmas card, then she's not surprised when she opens her mail... and she's not old enough to forget it between now & then!!! LOL!
So, Mom... you might have to be surprised if I end up using this... until I decide... I get dibs on this card idea!!! :D My Mom is super organized & gets her cards finished waaaay early.
Okay, for the details on this card... the sketch is from the Eat, Sleep, Stamp blog. Several of the girls I chat with have been talking about this challenge. She has a terrific give away if she gets 52 people to play in her challenge.
Cardstock Colors: Night of Navy, So Saffron, More Mustard
Ink: Night of Navy

Stamptv One Plus One Challenge
The Potluck challenge on stamptv was to use ONE color plus ONE neutral. I'm all caught up on birthday cards for the moment, so I was able to think about something else. As I looked through my stamps, the poinsettia jumped out at me. It was really simple to put together, but I'm really pleased with the results.
I stamped the poinsettia from A Year of Flowers in black Memento ink. I colored it in with my copics R35 and R37. I added white pearls to the center & red brads.

It's time for another Belli Challenge This week's challenge was to make a fall or halloween card. I decided to pull out my Vintage Picnic set from Papertrey. When I showed my hubby the card, he thought the off set piece was really cool. Well... ummm... you see I was chatting when I made the holes for the brads & realized too late that they weren't centered. The off centered piece was out of necessity!!! LOL!!! I've just discovered a new challenge blog... it is Stampin' Sisters in Christ
This week's challenge was a sketch challenge. I need a baby boy card, so I decided to use my A New Little Someone stamp set to make a card. I colored the bunny with Copics. (the bow looks much closer to the cardstock in real life.) I used Ballet Blue cardstock & grosgrain ribbon.
A big congratulations to the Laird family!!! :D

MTSC39 Mercy's Tuesday Sketch
It's time for another Mercy's Tuesday Sketch
I loved this sketch & the fact that as soon as I saw it, this idea popped into my head!!! LOL! I used Happy Harmony again. My Mom & I were having a conversation today about sending out birthday cards that are the colors of the season. Here's another Happy Harmony card for you, Mom! ;)
I'm not sure what company this dp is from, that is the bad thing about cutting the dp into 6x6 squares. I used Really Rust & Old Olive cardstock & markers. I colored white grosgrain ribbon with my Old Olive marker. It looks a little darker in this picture.

I saw some really pretty mums at Home Depot Sunday. They were a really pretty orange with a rust color in them. I used a Pumpkin Pie marker to color the flowers & then added just a little bit of Ruby Red to the edges.

Crazy4Challenges2
Here is my card for the Crazy 4 Challenges week 2 challenge or C4C2
My family spent the day geocaching. We had a 1/4 of a mile hike to get to one. While we were walking, we noticed several different colored water lilies on a pond. I used Papertrey Ink's Melon Berry, it is more pinky than what shows up in the picture. I thought the Melon Berry & Dark Chocolate seemed more like "fall" without having the pumpkins or leaves. It still feels very much like summer here.

Potluck Challenge Card
I was a last minute Lucy with this week's potluck challenge on stamptv. The challenge was to create a card with something hanging off of the boundaries of your card. I think the reason why I procrastinated so long on this card is I don't like things to hang off the card. I know, I know! LOL!
In the days before the Cuttlebug, people used a background stamp to create their own dp. I LOVE this background stamp. It's the Pretty Patterns by Cornish Heritage Farms. I used the Summer Sunrise & Dark Chocolate from Papertrey. In fact, I've used these colors so much that I'm going to have to order some more!!! :D
I'm not sure where the ribbon is from, but I would like to find some more of that too.

This is really lame, I know! The technique challenge for last week on stamptv was sewing. My sewing element was the stitched ribbon on this card.
