FS257 Anniversary Card

This card has been on my desk in progress since Sunday. Tuesday, my hubby had an accident while out in the field trying to get a deer. It resulted in the boys having to haul him over a fence & through the woods, mud, etc. to get him out & a trip to the ER. He's supposed to give it a week to see if it is just a badly sprained knee or if he tore something & will require surgery. I'm having to take him back & forth to work so my schedule is a tad wonky right now.

This is the first Pure Innocence that I bought & I originally bought it in a digi image from Heather Ellis on etsy. I have a cupcake sentiment that I wanted to use this image with. Every time I use one of these girls, I am reminded of my Grandmother. I remember shopping for an Easter dress with her & she wanted me to go with a pink or purple dress!!! ick, ick, ick!!! I wanted a blue dress! *grin* I think if she was still living she would have gotten a kick out of my card.

Yesterday, I had a doozy of a migraine. The worst migraine I've had in a couple of years & I have no idea what triggered it. So, no stamping yesterday & today is the "hangover" from the migraine day, so I doubt I will stamp today either.

But, I do have a photo of my archers to share. I took this picture on Friday. Devin & Dylan keep asking me to take a pic of them with their bows & if you look close you can see that both of them have an arrow nocked.

Next weekend, will be the year anniversary of Devin starting archery.

I never know how long we are going to be in one place & often what works for this house doesn't for the next. So she had me at "Dollar Tree"!!!!! I got 2 made with supplies that I already had & will pick up supplies tomorrow when we get to a town that actually has a Dollar Tree. I'm so, so excited!!! Thank you so much, Allison!!!!

My boys are blessed in so many ways. They have incredible men in their lives... strong men, men of integrity, men who are leaders, men who pour into their lives. Today, we want to say thank you to one of those men. We met Mr. Jay at our lifegroup at church. We got to spend time with him & his wife, before they took an assignment to D.C.

My boys don't realize that he has a high ranking, they don't realize that the job he is doing is a very special assignment. They do however, remember a man who poured into their lives. A man who stood at the Bushido "man" table, who had a high five for them & who encouraged them. Mr. Jay, you aren't here for them to say "thank you for your service", so this message is for you. Thank you so much for your service & your dedication to our country. But more than that, thank you for being such a Godly leader & for pouring into the next generation! You are appreciated!

Timeless Tuesday #127 Inspiration Photo

This week's Timeless Tuesday challenge is an Inspiration challenge. It was all about purple.

While I was putting this card together Devin asked why I had cut my circle the way I did. He thought I was a genius! I'm sure that others have thought of this, but I am going to share anyway. The dp I used was from a paper pack that also had solid color matching paper. It only had one sheet & I wanted to use it as a layer & as my scallop nestie. So I cut the paper the size I needed for my 2nd layer. Then I cut the scallop nestie out of that layer.
