FTTC232 Autumn Colors

This week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge was to use Autumn colors.  I tried to grow flowers this summer... between the heat & the water restriction because of the drought, my flowers didn't stand much of a chance.  I'm hoping it will get out of the 100*'s soon so I can have some fall plants to enjoy for a little while!

FTTC216 Frame It

This week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge was to "Frame It".  I grabbed this piece of dp out of my scrap box.  I'm still trying to make my way through it.  I'm not buying any 12 x 12 dp & have been putting all of the scraps from the 6x6 pads back with the pads.  It still doesn't seem like I'm making progress going through my scraps!

Stamps: Calendar Set 3 Flourishes
C/S: black, white, Wild Dandelion
DP: from the scrap box
copics, circle nestabilities, black pearls, black satin ribbon

Orange Polka Dot Ribbon

This story is a stamper's version of "What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas"... (the names have been purposefully left out to protect the guilty!!!  bwhahahahaha!!!)

Some of you know that orange is one of my Top 3 least favorite colors, so you may be wondering how on earth I would end up with ribbon of such a color in my possession,  you are nodding your heads, right???!!!    It's what happens when you are in a craft store & the ribbon is 40% off & you aren't shopping by yourself.  When the phrases, "but it's on sale!"  and "it will go with something" are mentioned by your oh, so helpful enabling friends, that you go ahead & pick up a spool of orange & white polka dot ribbon & put it in your cart.  Fast forward a few years... yes, I just typed years, I'm not going to mention how many exactly... we'll just go with years...  *wink*   I'm going through my ribbon storage wondering just how I could have so much ribbon & yet not the right colors. I decided that since I'm participating in a "No Spend August" that it would be a good time to use some of this oh, so lovely ribbon.  That's how it ended up on this card.  I told a few people participating in the challenge with me that it was my goal to use some of the ribbon this week.  So I achieved my goal... but do you know how much ribbon is left on the spool?????  I really think they put more ribbon on this spool than they do of my favorite colors.  They do it on purpose, I'm just sure of it!!!  *grin*

I can't promise when I will pull this out for another card, but I have plenty left.

Timeless Tuesday #54 It's All About Me

When I saw today's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge, I decided to use the asters from the Calendar set 3. I haven't used these yet. I have a love/hate relationship with these Asters.

A lady I worked with in my first job after college, had beautiful Mexican Asters in her yard. She would bring in bouquets weekly for months. She shared some of her seeds with me. I followed her directions to a "T" & my plants didn't do anything. She gave me seeds every year for the 4 years I worked with her & they NEVER did grow for me. Hers seemed to do better each year. *sigh*

I've got all kinds of seeds planted & plants ready to go into pots, I might see if I can find some Mexican Aster seeds & try my hand at them again. At least with this stamp, I can create a beautiful bouquet even if I can't grow them! *wink*
