TCPTUESAug13 Long & Lean

This month's TCP Tuesday Challenge was to make a Long & Lean card.  This was a bit of a challenge for me, but after having it sit out on my stamp table for a few days, I got it put together.  You can't tell, but there is a LOT of stickles on the snowflake that the penguin is holding.

FTTC234~Dainty Doilies

This week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge was to use a doily on our project.  The doily made me think of soft colors, so I paired up these yellow roses with some light green cardstock.

With Sympathy!

My card is on the Classy Cards 'n Such blog today.  Be sure to read down to the bottom of Beverly's post for an announcement!!  

When I made this card, we had just received word that a family friend's mom had a stroke & wasn't expected to live very long.  My parents met this family when they pastored a small town church in Oklahoma in 1977.  They have been friends with this family ever since.  When the mom had a stroke, they called my dad & asked him to officiate the service when the time came.    I normally don't make sympathy cards ahead of time, but it was so nice to be able to put this in the mail when I received word that she had passed away.

SC450 Daisy

One of the ladies I volunteer with at the Food Bank had knee replacement surgery today.  I thought today's sketch on SCS was perfect for a get well card!

FTTC232 Autumn Colors

This week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge was to use Autumn colors.  I tried to grow flowers this summer... between the heat & the water restriction because of the drought, my flowers didn't stand much of a chance.  I'm hoping it will get out of the 100*'s soon so I can have some fall plants to enjoy for a little while!
