Coloring is not a game of perfect

I normally love it when my boys are able to take something that they've heard & use it as an example, etc.  This time, one of them used it on me.   Both of my boys are competitive archers, hoping to make a US Olympic team.  There is a lot of struggles that happen mentally & most archers work on that aspect, as do golfers.  There is a book called "Golf is not a game of perfect" by Bob Rotella.  My boys have read it & changed golf to archery.   Anyway, I have been practicing my copic coloring, especially the reds over the past few days.  I spent quite a bit of time coloring this image & got almost finished when I colored outside of the lines.  Sigh...  I tried my colorless blender, but couldn't get all of the red out.  I was a lot frustrated with it, when one of my boys came through & saw my face.  I showed him where I had "messed" up & had tried to remove it with the colorless blender.  I could still see the mess.  He said, "Mom, coloring is not a game of perfect."    When I saw the Ways to Use it challenge today where we were supposed to "mess" it up, I knew that was the solution to cover up my mistake.  After he saw my splatters on the card, he told me "See what happens when you get out of your own head??!!" Lol The current Power Poppy Creative Confetti is~ Just Around~ to round a corner.

CAS376 Happy Mother's Day!

I combined this week's CAS challenge with this month's Power Poppy Spark May challenge & gave this card to my mom for Mother's Day!  Happy Mother's Day to all the mama's out there!  We were talking about how awesome my mom is today & my boys were sharing memories of things that had happened while they were staying at my parents house.  One of them said, "And Grandma is really amazing, she sent the best snacks with us fishing & then when we got home had fantastic food ready for us to eat. No wonder you cook so good mom, you learned from Grandma!"  At this point, both of my boys are growing & all they can think about is food, even in memories!  *grin*

Power & Spark: Switch Up Your Shades

Sympathy Peonies

There is a 100% chance that you & I are going to die, it's a part of life & yet... I have the hardest time having  sympathy cards made up ahead of time.  When Kevin texted me today, saying we needed one, I started thinking about the card I was going to make.  It took me a good chunk of the day to create this one.  It did help that I saw The Monday Morning Challenge this morning & the theme is "Think Spring."  I knew I wanted to play & incorporated that challenge into my card.  I certainly hope spring is just around the corner!

Power Poppy Purse Inspiration

I was standing behind a lady the other day who had a purse with these colors in it.  I stood behind her & studied her purse & told myself to remember the colors/patterns so I could come home & use them.  I asked her if she would mind if I took a picture of it to use as inspiration & only received a glare.  I took that as a no!  LOL  I made this for Power Poppy's Peep of the Week Challenge.

Triple Challenge Card Yellow Tulips

This is a triple challenge card! While I know the calendar just recently showed that it's the first day of winter, I'm so ready for warmer weather!!!  LOL    The sweet tulips are from Power Poppy & I made this for the Peep of the Week Challenge. The colors were this week's SCS color challenge & the layout was a CASE of Janeen's card for this week's CAS challenge.  I chose THIS card to CASE.  I had planned on using an oval, but my image was just a tad too big.
