You might live in southern Okla if...

you can be barefoot & shirtless (the boys would have been wearing shorts, but I wouldn't let them get any out of the storage tubs!) one day playing in 70+ degree weather & less than a week later freezing in the snow!!!

The bottom picture was taken this morning. My hubby noticed another crazy geocacher put out a new cache. He decided that they needed to go try to be the first to find on it. (If you don't know anything about geocaching, go to www.geocaching.com ) It's 20 degrees with ice & snow, I don't even know what the windchill was. Anyway, we drive 20 miles to Wal-mart... out of our way... & stop to get this geocache on the way home. The geocache was located in a cemetery & it looked like they had a water main break... there was ice all over the roads. After they located the geocache, signed the log ... they were FTF by the way! and were back in the car, we are slipping & sliding around. They said it would be funny if we got stuck in the cemetery. Mr. James would be the first one they would call, because he would appreciate the story. My guys don't have too many fishing stories, but they have all kinds of geocaching stories!!! *wink*

I think I have the hang of this new editing program. My hubby is thrilled because it's a free program... wonder if I can convince him to let me spend the money that I saved on some new stamps!!! *wink*

Testing 1,2,3

I'm trying to figure out this photo editing software. I'm just playing to see what works. This woodpecker was outside my window today. I took this when it was sleeting so it looks a little blurry.

The ice & snow aren't very bad in this part of the state, but it is certainly slowing down my internet connection.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll be back with a card.

INSPIRE7 & CCC10

I loved the sketch from yesterday so much that I made another card. The inspiration challenge on stamptv was a gorgeous red photo. I struggle with inspiration challenges since I am more literal, but I pulled the red out of the challenge & came up with this card. This is also for the January Christmas Card challenge on SCS. I plan on making 9 more of these over the next few days.

C4C20 & ssnotime122

This is for the sketch challenge for Crazy 4 Challenges #20 & also squeaking under the wire for this week's Stamp Simply Challenge. It was to use a floral theme & spring time colors. I know that pastel colors are typical of spring, but I LOVE red tulips. When a friend of mine called today to say that she saw red tulips for sale at the store, I was motivated to create a red tulip card.

Priceless

I thought the circles were straight & didn't notice it until I got ready to write the post. I have fixed it, but didn't re-take the picture. The cardstock looks a little orange on my screen, but is actually Berry Sorbet from PTI.

Today, I was reinking a Brilliant Blue ink pad & the reinker exploded ALL over the place. I have blue all over my hands. I got quite a few looks while I was in town today! Even though I have washed my hands 100 times, I still have blue on me. I've used baking soda & vinegar, I've tried finger nail polish remover, I've even tried Goo remover... it still is on my hands & rubs off onto everything I touch. White card + blue hands does not equal a good thing!!! *wink* BUT, the 1970's harvest gold marble counter top that the reinker spilled all over... yeah, it cleaned up nicely & doesn't look like anything happened!!!!

This card meets two of my goals for this year: 1) to use more of the things I have on hand. I received these butterflies from Wish Rak awhile ago. 2) to create general cards that I can have on hand to grab when someone is on my mind.

I have several challenges on my list that I hope to be able to work on tomorrow.

Gina K. Release Sketch Challenge

My computer was being wonky last night, so I didn't get to post this last night.

In honor of the Gina K. January release, Theresa came up with this fabulous sketch.

I'm using purple again, simply because 1) I really do like purple iris' & 2) since I don't use purple very often, I have a whole file folder full. I was taking inventory of my cardstock the other day & noticed, I'm getting low on several colors... but not purple! I decided to make a card & use up a little bit of the purple & save some of my other colors, at least for one day! *wink*

I stamped one of the leaves from the set in Pale Plum ink, on the little Pale Plum piece. It just gave it a little dimension without being too much.

Stamps: Elegant Flowers, Gina K.
Ink: Memento Black, Pale Plum

Cuttlebug Only Stamp Simply #121

This week's Stamp Simply #121 challenge was to create a card using a heart. Sharon suggested we use something from our stash. After thinking about this, I can't remember if I've ever used this Cuttlebug heart... and not just this year... ever! I'm so glad she suggests we use something from our stash. For some reason, this month my wish list is WAY over my fun money budget. But, I have a ton of items in my stamp area, like this Cuttlebug heart that I haven't used or have used very little. I'm trying to focus on those things to keep my mind off of the new things that I want. LOL!

Poppy

As I was cleaning up my cardstock from yesterday, I decided to make another card with these same colors. We are supposed to have another round freezing temps & negative wind chills. It is just unheard of for us to have weather like this. Some of the schools in the state are closed because of the windchills. My boys have already asked if they can have a day off tomorrow!! LOL!!

Double Duty Card

This is a double duty card. For the Crazy4Challenges theme this week was to use polka dots. The Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge #20 was to make a card for a new baby or a new life in Christ.

When my boys saw this card, my youngest said, "Ewwww, pink, I don't like none of it!" My oldest said, "Why do you have to make a pink card?" Pink is not a favorite color in this house!!! LOL!!!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!! It's so hard to believe that it's 2010!

This week's Stamp Simply Challenge was to use something new. I received Flourishes Calendar Set for Christmas & haven't had a chance to use it. I'm not a huge purple fan so my purple embellishments are very limited. I had a hard time finding ribbon that would work on this card. Guess I need to buy a few purple things for times like today!
