Today is my Mom's... ummm... well... let's just say... birthday!!!! :D :D Even though it isn't an extra special milestone year, it is her special day & I wanted to give her a special card. I had a hard time coming up with something until I saw this card I LOVED it!!! I forgot to order the In Bloom dp from Papertrey... you can bet it will be on my next order! So, I decided to get out my white ink pad & create my own dp. I also colored the rose red. Happy Birthday, Mom! I hope today is a extra special day for you!!! I love you!!

My Last Daisy Card... For Awhile!!!

This is my last daisy card... for awhile anyway!!! ;) I've been challenged to put the daisies away & bring out some fall images. Even though it certainly doesn't feel like fall, the calendar tells me that it is that time of the year. I made this card for Friday's Potluck Challenge on Stamptv. The challenge was to use more than 2 buttons on your card. I've been hoarding these buttons from Papertrey, so it was a good challenge to actually get me to use them. :D

Stamp Simply #101 - Let’s Polka!

This week's Stamp Simply challenge was to use polka dots. I have used polka dots a lot recently, so this was a lot of fun. I LOVE black & white polka dots!!! I used Real Red & Basic Black as well as the black & white polka dot dp. I haven't used Simply Said in a long time, so I decided to pull it out. The sentiment is from Papertrey's new Autumn Abundance set.

I have a little stash of birthday cards going, but didn't have a thank you card. Guess I need to work on a couple of other occasions besides birthdays! LOL!!!

Etsy Challenge

It's time for another Etsy Challenge I haven't been playing very long, but I found myself looking forward to this morning to see what I could create today. I knew as soon as I saw this piece that it would be my inspiration piece. It also gives me another chance to use the Eclectic Summer Kit from Gina K. at least one more time before I start using fall items. I really liked the rick rack effect on the piece & I knew I didn't have any yellow rick rack. So, I jumped in the car.... oh, wait a minute... I live in the sticks & I could jump in the car, but would have to drive too many miles to find yellow rick rack to make it practical. Scratch that & move to plan B... color the white rick rack that I had with my yellow Y21 copic marker. Voila!!! Yellow rick rack!! :D I ran both pieces of the black c/s through the Cuttlebug.

Potluck Challenge

I made this card for last week's potluck challenge on stamptv. It was a recipe: 1 or more designer paper, 2 or more types of bling, 3 or more layers, 4 or more pastels. It took me the whole week to think about this card. I finally came up with something Thursday night. (it had to be posted before 8am on Friday) Talk about a last minute Lucy!!! LOL!!

I found out today that I won!!! I entered the potluck challenge & used Gina K images (your name goes in the hat 2x that way!!), I won!!! My name was drawn randomly. I get to choose a free stamp set from Gina K!!!!! WOO HOO!!! I'm so excited!!! I'm still trying to decide which stamp set to choose. There is a challenge Mon-Fri every week on Stamptv. You should come play with us!!! :D

I used Berry Sorbet cardstock & ribbon from Papertrey. I'm not sure what the dp is, it was in a stack that I bought on ebay. The ice cream is from the stamp set 100% sweet. I used copics to color in the image & my dew drops. And a metal clip... I don't use them very often because I'm not sure how you are supposed to use them.

Technique Challenge

I made this card for last week's technique challenge on stamptv. You used an ink pad on the cuttlebug folder & it creates a cool look. The boys loved helping me. We came up with some wild combinations!!! LOL!!

I used one of Stampin' Up!'s new in colors, Melon Mambo for the butterfly & the matching cardstock & ribbon. Basic Black & white. Super easy card.

Stamptv Color Challenge

Today's color challenge on stamptv was to use green, black & white on your card. For some reason, masculine is what popped into my head when I thought of the colors. I pulled out the Signs of Autumn kit & used the leaves. It was HOT, HOT today & did not feel at all like fall is in the air. I'm glad I can use this image & it not feel like an autumn card.

I'm being corrupted!!!

Yep! It's true. I'm being corrupted by my friend Lee. And you know what?!! She's not even sorry about it. After she reads this, she will laugh. *sigh* This is the 2nd card in less than a week that I've used the pink & brown color combo voluntarily!!!!!!! :D (The bottom scoop of the ice cream cone is really pink. ) While this card was made for a challenge, it didn't require the pink & brown colors. Lee still has a loooong way to go to get me to use a lot of bling & color, but she'll be thrilled that she is getting me to use more pink!!! Thanks DF!!!! :D

The cupcake is from the Everyday Classics set that was a freebie from Papertrey if you bought 12 sets last year. The sentiment is also from that set.

Summer Harvest Sketch Challenge Card

I decided to pull out this image from the Summer Harvest stamp set. I'm trying to use my summer images before it's time to pull out more fall things. It's still summer here in Oklahoma, so it doesn't seem like fall. I'll still be using my summer things this month at least! ;)

I found a tutorial coloring the strawberries with copics here I like how the strawberries turned out... they looked better before I put the crystal effects on them. But, the leaves... well, let's just say that I need another tutorial!!! :)

Christmas Thank You

I know, I know... it's early to be thinking about Christmas cards... but I needed to think about an card I could mass produce. Both of my boys have December birthdays & it seems like December gets crazy. I added stickles to the top of the hat & the snowflakes. This card is inspired by this card on Splitcoast. I've had it in my favorites since last year. My goal is to take some of my favorited cards & create something with my own twist.

Double Take Challenge Card

Gina K. designs just had a release party on SCS. During each release, there are 3 challenges & that means extra chances to win a free Gina K. set. LuvLee's challenge was to create a card using 2 different sets. One of them for the background & one for the focal point. I don't have very many Gina K. sets that could be paired together. So, my choices aren't too creative. I used the Eclectic Summer Kit for the background & the Eclectic Sayings for the focal point.
