C4C30 Sketch & Melanie's Scrap Challenge

This week's challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges blog is a sketch challenge. I paired it up with Melanie's Sketch Challenge.
She challenged us to make a card using the scraps that we had on our desk.

This card went together fairly easily. I needed an easy card after the excitement we had today. Our hot water heater caught on fire. I had to call the fire dept & quickly move the cleaners from the shelf so they didn't catch on fire!!! The firemen said we were extremely lucky that it didn't do any other damage. Then the electrician came out to remove & replace the burnt one, he said if I hadn't been home, it would have been a major diaster! I normally am on my way to the PO to mail ebay packages & was behind schedule. Praise the Lord!!

FTTC60 Inspiration Geranium

After the previous boy post, I decided I needed to go the opposite & went with pink for the geraniums. The geraniums on my deck that the raccoon ate were supposed to look like these.

I made this card for this week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge. It was a Inspiration Challenge, you can see it here I chose the bottom photo. I liked the pink flowers on the bedspread & the square tiles on the floor.

He's ALL Boy!

My oldest son is 8 & he's ALL boy... completely fearless!!! He had been outside for a little while today... it got up to 81* today! He came tapping on the window to get my attention. As he holds his hand up , he says... "Can we keep them, Mom? They are just sooo cute!" Ummmmmm.... NO!!! Take them far away from the house... I do not want to see them again!

So he goes outside & disposes of those rodents. Then a few minutes later, he's asking, "Well, how about this?" YIKES!!!
I think he's going to have to just live in his room!!!!

A friend of ours, kissed his face over & over again on Sunday. He said that he wanted to save either one of them to take to give to Miss Tiffany as a present! Not only is he ALL boy, he's also onery!

I've been too busy keeping an eye on him to get a card made. Maybe in a little while...

New Stamp Spot

On a personal note, I have a new stampin' spot for the days that are nice. I bought a table for the back deck over the weekend. Today, was nice enough to take my stuff out there & stamp while the boys played outside. They played in the trees... even the cedar... Dylan is highly allergic to cedar pollen, so I hope he doesn't end up with a nasty reaction... & the sandbox. Every time I tried to get their picture, they ran on the other side of the deck to hide. I'm not sure why they were so camera shy today.

Anyway, I really like this new spot... the table isn't weather proof, so it has to be cleared off & put away when I'm finished. That means that my stamping supplies have to be completely put away! :D

Our Creative Corner Sketch

The challenge over at Our Creative Corner was a sketch challenge this week. I need a few more Easter cards... yes, they should have been made & mailed out by now... but that is another story! *sigh*

Card Patterns Sketch 57

I made this for the Card Patterns Sketch 57 challenge. There's no pink here today!!! *wink* :D

I got some more flowers planted today... red ones & they inspired my color choice for this card. The seeds that I started haven't done very well & the ones that did make it ended up being a snack for a bold raccoon that made his way onto our back deck in the wee hours of the morning. GRRR!!! He left the bigger plants away, but seemed to only like the young leaves. I am glad that he left part of them alone!

MTSC66 Easter Blessings

I made this for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge I cut out the daffodils & popped them up. The sketch is a square, so I had to put part of the white panel in the Cuttlebug & then do another little strip. Thankfully, the daffodil panel covers up the overlap area. :)

This card certainly didn't end up the way I had planned. It started out for a challenge card & ended up being just a card!! I could have messed with this a little more & ended up making it fit the challenge, but I need it to go in the mail tomorrow, so I will try the challenge again tomorrow.

March 20 & C4C29 Happy Spring

The bottom picture is a personal picture. We got a "trace" amount of snow today. Look at how green our grass is! Hubs is going to have to mow soon, there are parts of the yard that are really thick already. Yesterday, our temp was 70!!!

The theme for this week's Crazy 4 Challenges is to think spring. I was in the mood for some red tulips, so I reached for this image. It is from a retired SU! set that I sold many years ago. This is the only stamp in the set that I ever used. Someone in the SCS Wish Rak group was nice enough to send me some images.

Birthday Card for Grandad

My hubby's Grandad's birthday is this week. I always have a hard time with masculine cards. I decided to use this week's color challenge over at stamptv. It was to use any shades of green & we could add an accent color. I don't know if Tina wanted our accent color to be quite a whole quarter panel!!! LOL!! I didn't have any green rhinestones, so I had to color them with my copic.

You might need your sunglasses!!!!

This is for the sketch challenge on stamptv. The bright colored paper reminds me of a pair of pants that I owned. I can remember the exact store in a little town in South Africa. My mom HATED those pants. They were a bright, obnoxious pattern. But, I loved them. :)

Daisy in Navy & Yellow

I was chatting with a friend earlier & mentioned that I wasn't feeling any of the challenges tonight. She suggested "my" daisy! *wink* I was shocked because she gives me a hard time about my daisy, just like I give her a hard time about pink. She challenged me to pair it with navy. I had this panel left over from Gina's Inspire challenge, so I used it with the navy. I asked her if it was okay to use 8 brads on a card... she said, "Have I not taught you anything?!" Now, I know that was her PC way of saying, "Ummm... 9 brads, not 8!!!" *wink* Well, I just couldn't get 9 brads on here. BUT, I did pop up the sentiment!!!! :)

Pansys in Kraft

Our temps today were in the low 70's!!! I was able to get outside & enjoy some of the nice weather. I'm ready to plant some flowers! :)

C4C27 Paper Piercing

The challenge over at the Crazy 4 Challenge blog this week is to use some kind of paper piercing on your card.

I have had so much fun with this Spring Florals set. Usually, I get a set & use it a few times before it's time for another release. Eventually, they get used... but this time I've used this set quite a few times. Guess that means I'm especially ready for spring! *wink*

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger Sweet on Spring

We've been away from home the last few days & the weather has been absolutely beautiful... well, I've heard it's beautiful & it looks beautiful. I've spent most of the time in the room stamping! :)
We had to tell the hotel cleaning ladies that we took the desk & chair up to Lee's room, so they wouldn't think we took off with it!!! :)

I made this for the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger-Sweet on Spring Challenge. The bright colors just seemed to popped off the page, so that's the trigger for my card-- bold, bright, springy colors!

Please ignore the glare on the card. I'm in a hotel room, stamping with my good friend Lee Murphy & the lighting in here isn't very good! I put my card on the window ledge to get some natural lighting.

No card tonight

I don't have a card tonight, I tried... I really did. I trashed it. *sigh* I would have made another card, but my stamping stuff is packed in the trunk of my car. I will make up for it over the next few days, I promise. I have many challenges that I hope to get finished while on vacation.

Until tomorrow, I hope! *wink*
